One more day…

This week has flown by. Tomorrow will be my last “on duty” day with Novell. I’ve spent much of this week handing off tasks or information to co-workers and saying goodbyes.

Well, “goodbyes” is overselling it a bit — I hope. Since I telecommute, I’ll be just as close to everyone I’ve worked with on Monday as I have been the past two years, and hope to remain in touch with all of the friends I’ve made at Novell and in the openSUSE community long after I stop having an @novell.com address.

A couple of folks have asked if Novell will be hiring a new community manager or if someone is “waiting in the wings.”

Yes, Novell is looking for a new community manager, but the job isn’t posted to the Novell site just yet. If you’re interested, contact Joe Goss. His username is jgoss — if you can’t figure out the rest, well, you might not be a great candidate… Feel free to ping me directly if you’re thinking of applying and want a sense of what the job (currently, anyway) entails.

Actual job duties aside, the job does include working with some truly great folks. I’m looking forward to whatever comes next, and Monday morning is going to be a whole new adventure — but also a bit sad knowing I won’t be spending as much time with my co-workers and openSUSE peeps.

I didn’t found answer for most basic question; why are you leaving Novell?

Well, that’s not an answer but if you prefer so, then I have nothing to argue about ;) .

I hope you won’t regret and you’ll have fun at your new work place.
