Ontario Linux Fest

In just a few hours, I’ll be in Toronto for the Ontario Linux Fest! Looking forward to meeting the OLF crowd and giving the Musical Guide “remix” keynote tomorrow. “Remix” because I had the opportunity to do the talk the first time at LinuxCon in September, and this time around I’ll be giving a slightly different version of the talk. Let’s just hope that the projector cooperates with my laptop, otherwise it’ll be the “unplugged” version.

Whoops. Looks like they’re boarding my flight early (WTF?) so I’m off to catch the first flight. First time in Toronto, any advice or suggestions? :-)

I’ve only ever briefly visited Toronto, so take this with a grain of salt: Kensington Market/Chinatown, the area south of the university of Toronto, the Bata shoe museum for something completely different, and the Distillery district. Apparently the Royal Ontario Museum and the CN tower (tall phallic building) are popular as well.

  3. Pacific Mall (in Markham, right off the 407) is a sight to see. Some other places that I like when I lived there.. Port Perry, great tourist town just outside of Toronto on Lake Scugog
