In her debut blog post, my friend Jennifer Cloer has tapped me for the 7 Things meme that’s sweeping the intarwebs. Really glad to see Jennifer starting her own blog — she’s one smart PR person, and I hope she’ll be sharing some PR science over on her whiteboard.
How the 7 Things meme works:
1. Link to your original tagger(s) and list these rules in your post.
2. Share seven facts about yourself in the post.
3. Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names and the links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged.
So, there you have the rules. Here we go with seven known and unknown facts about me:
- I own too many books. By “too many” I mean several times my own weight in books. That’s a lot…
- 10 years ago, I was deathly afraid of flying. In 2008, I managed more than 100,000 miles on Delta alone. I’m still convinced that the plane will (eventually) crash, I’ve just resigned myself to it.
- I once wrote a 26-page paper on Chuck Jones and Road Runner cartoons for a communications class at Truman State University. I’m pretty sure that Road Runner cartoons are the pinnacle of Western Civilization, along with The Beatles and Douglas Adams.
- My vision is something like 1200/20 or 2400/20 uncorrected. It probably goes without saying that I wear glasses…No, not quite ready to have my eyes zapped with lasers and I can’t usually be bothered to wear contacts.
- My first car was a ’78 Buick Century station wagon that I bought for $200, I still miss it. I’m convinced it would still be running if it hadn’t been wrecked. I still prefer station wagons to other kinds of cars.
- I couldn’t (touch) type when I started college, now I can touch-type with the best of them. No typing classes, it must be something about having dual majors in English and journalism…
- I’ve been in the Linux “industry” now for nearly 10 years, working in marketing, publishing, system administration, and community relations. It’s been a great 10 years, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 bring.
And now, my seven victims targets (in no particular order…) — all interesting people and excellent bloggers. (Though, perhaps they could blog more…)
Better late than never! But, then again – I need to post again, like, today. Expecting to update tonight or tomorrow.
As you know, I share your fear of flying and have also resigned to letting fate take its course, whatever that may be. There is freedom in submission
