I like most things about my job: I get to meet and work with great people. I get to use and promote open source software for a living. Every day I learn something (usually more than one thing) new. I’ve gotten to travel to new places I probably wouldn’t have gone on my own dime (though doing the touristy thing takes a serious backseat to the work thing, so it’s a trade-off).
But I can say with certainty that doing budgets? So very not one of my top 100 favorite things.
Budgeting is not a skill that they emphasized while I was getting my journalism/English degree.
