Since Dapper is out now, I’ve had a request for an amd64 package of the Gaim 2.0 beta 3 for Dapper. I’m throwing in a x86 package at no additional charge. Should be stable, but standard caveats apply — may be unstable, eat your data, or otherwise do terrible nasty things to your computer. If they do, not my fault… Gaim
These are built using CheckInstall, so may not be up to typical Ubuntu packaging standards.
Also, I’m probably going to build a Vim 7.0 package for Dapper, let me know if there’s any interest in that. I haven’t checked to see if there’s any work going on there for backports, I probably should.

Ah, very nice.
Interesting if you can create good packages for Vim7 – currenty, I use some bootlegged from debian
I am interested in a Vim 7.0 Package for dapper
Thank you once again
I have some Gaim 2.0 beta packages up as well, following the format of the standard debian and ubuntu gaim packages (gaim, gaim-data, gaim-devel packages for the binaries, pictures, and plugin dev libraries, respectively). You can find them here:
Gaim 2.0 Beta2/Beta3 debian packages
There are, unfortunately, only the x86 binary packages. However, the source packages are available as well, and will conceivably build on most architectures with your standard
apt-get source --compile gaimcommand. In any case, I\\\’ve personally verified that the packages run on Debian Etch, Debian Sid, Ubuntu Breezy, and Ubuntu Dapper. YMMV with other distributions.Me too.
I’m ones from here:
