Getting silly with Gmail

It’s April 1st, which means it’s time for Google to make a few announcements relating to Gmail. Gmail was announced 1 year ago, which raised the question “is this an April Fool’s gag, or are they really going to give 1 GB of storage to people? That’s a whole lot of space…”

Google came through with the 1 GB, and now they’re planning to bump it to 2 GB. I’ve had a Gmail account for about six or seven months now, and I’m using… 47 MB. Granted, I tend to delete things and not all of my mail goes to Gmail, but I don’t see having 2 GB anytime soon… They’ve also announced “rich formatting” which I probably won’t be using since I have strong objections to HTML-ized email.
