Added image test to posts

I used to find it mildly annoying to go to blogs or other sites that required the user to type in a alpha-numeric code from an image to post something on the site.

Well, I won’t be complaining about that anymore… The last week or so, this blog has been absolutely flooded with comment spam from asshat spammers trying to promote online casinos and so forth. This greatly enforces my “death penalty for spammers” position.

In the meantime, I’ve used the AuthImage plugin to add an authentication code to allow someone to post a comment. I love comments from real people who want to chat about Linux, open source and general geekdom, so I hope this minor speedbump won’t discourage anyone aside from spammers.

If you’re running WordPress yourself, I highly recommend you look into the AuthImage plugin. It’s dead simple to enable, and should do a great deal to stem comment spam.
